Sound worlds and blessings: discoveries for the Cologne community!

Something is happening in Cologne! The city is gearing up for an exciting weekend packed with music, spirituality and communal experiences. Numerous events are on the program that will captivate the people of Cologne.

The Ensemble NeoBaroque will bring the viola's life story to life on Friday, October 3rd at 7 p.m. in the Christ Church. The viola, a remarkable instrument of the violin family that played a central role in the Baroque period, is not only found in orchestras but is also closely linked to the development of music. The musicians Maren Ries, Stanislav Gres and Carly Power present works by composers such as Corrette, Bach and Hindemith. Entrance tickets are available for 15 euros (reduced 10 euros), either via Cologne ticket, shortlinks.de or at the box office.

Body and mind: Church trail and more

Another highlight is the Church trail, which launches on Saturday, October 4th. This special run of 9.4 kilometers leads through several of the city's churches and combines exercise with reflection. Participants are warmly invited to take part in various impulse and exercise stations along the route. Participation is free, but registration is required at sportkirche-koeln.de necessary.

For all those who are enthusiastic about science, a lecture by Professor Heino Falcke will take place in Altenberg Cathedral on the same day at 8 p.m. Under the title “Between the Big Bang and the Apocalypse”, Falcke will give exciting insights into the creation of the universe. Admission is free, donations are requested. The evening will be accompanied musically by Jens-Peter Enk.

Celebration of creation and literary exploration

Sunday, October 5th also promises many interesting events. An introductory service with a gospel choir will take place in the Dietrich Bonhoeffer Church at 3 p.m., while at the same time the ecumenical creation day is celebrated in the Erftstadt Environmental Center. An animal blessing awaits visitors here, where animals can also be brought along. Coffee, tea and a delicious cake buffet are also offered for young and old.

Literature lovers are also welcome on Monday! At 8 p.m. a literary journey into autumn begins in the community hall of Christ Church Brühl under the title “Your dream has autumn eyes”. With texts by Rilke, Domin and Kästner, the event will be led by Pastor Renate Gerhard and promises to put the listeners in the autumnal mood.

The Cologne cultural scene is at its best this weekend! Whether through musical performances, sporting activities or spiritual events - everyone will find something that touches their heart here. Immerse yourself in the city's diverse offerings and be inspired!
