What's going on in Cologne next weekend? An exciting event weekend is expected, with several highlights. On Saturday, June 28, 2025, the LOTTA summer football festival will take place at the Pollerwiesen district sports facility. It starts at 10 a.m. with an exciting field of participants, including the Sonic Ballstars, Gottes Grüne Wiese, and Atletico Lotta. Visitors can look forward to delicious food, drinks and DJs, creating a great atmosphere.
Meanwhile, there is also sporting news from the world of basketball. The German women were unfortunately eliminated in the quarter-finals of the Eurobasket 2025 against Belgium. The male soccer team that made it to the final of the U21 European Championships looks more confident. They face England on Saturday at 9pm - a game that will undoubtedly attract many fans to their television screens.
Disc Days Cologne 2025
A very big topic is the Disc Days Cologne 2025, which will take place on Saturday and Sunday in the Müngersdorf sports park. An international Ultimate Frisbee tournament with around 30 teams is held here. The preliminary round games start on Saturday from 9 a.m. The highlight of Sunday are the finals, which are scheduled for 2 p.m. for the women and at 3 p.m. for the open class. Admission is free and you can look forward to a colorful program with live music and lots of Frisbee sports. After all, the sport of Ultimate Frisbee is enjoying growing popularity - in Germany there are over 4,800 organized players in more than 110 clubs ultimatefrisbee100.de reported.
Ultimate Frisbee not only impresses with its exciting game, but also with its strong fair play concept. In Germany, the sport is played without referees, which particularly emphasizes the “spirit of the game”. In addition, the infrastructure and competition in Frisbee sports is well organized thanks to the German Frisbee Sports Association (DFV), which is based in Cologne. The DFV not only runs championships, but has also promoted the development of sport in Germany since its founding in 1989.

In addition, the noble bazaar in the Luther Church is on the program on June 28th. From 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. you can buy fashion, bags, jewelry and shoes here, with the proceeds supporting aid projects for women and children. The weekend is rounded off with a summer festival in the Musikhaus Süd, which starts at 3 p.m. and is celebrated with workshops and an open air concert by the band SCHLAGSAITE from 6 p.m.
