Big daycare festival in Lindweiler: Children celebrate diversity with Planschemalöör!
On Friday, June 27, 2025, the children and families from Lindweiler and Longerich celebrated a colorful festival on the campus grounds of the social center Lino-Club e.V. The Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger reports on a large daycare group festival to which a total of six daycare centers were invited. Under the motto “We are one world – all the same, all different,” visitors were able to spend valuable time together and celebrate cultural diversity.
The Lino Club was particularly active in cooperation with the Longerich-Lindweiler Catholic parish association and the Caritas subsidiary CariKids. The participating daycare centers came from the two districts: Marienberger Weg, Hartenfelsweg and Longericher Straße from Lindweiler as well as St. Dionysius, St. Bernhard and Heilig Geist from Longerich. The stands offered a wide range of food, drinks and games, which particularly impressed the younger guests.
A colorful program for little adventurers
The attractions left nothing to be desired. The Linoluckynelli children's and youth circus offered a hands-on ring that gave all children the opportunity to try out simple tricks. There was also a bouncy castle, face painting, crafts and many other activities. The highlight of the festival was the performance of the band Planschemalöör, whose child-friendly songs encouraged people to sing along and jump along. Ralf Krep, head of the Lino Club's children and youth work, explained the special connection to the musicians, who relaxed the atmosphere in no time with their music.
The festival was not only fun for the children, but also an opportunity for parents, neighbors and interested parties to exchange ideas and make contacts. Krep and Guido Geiss, head of the CariKids service area, emphasized the important role of the event in social cohesion between the districts. Singing and celebrating together helped break down prejudices and create a sense of community.
Cultural diversity as enrichment
The daycare center educators know the importance of cultural diversity, especially in today's multicultural societies. According to a specialist article on kindergartenpaedagogik.de, understanding the different living environments of children in daycare centers is of great importance. Today, many children grow up in culturally diverse environments, which is not only challenging but also a great learning opportunity. Pedagogical professionals are required to integrate this diversity into everyday life and to present it to children as an opportunity for democratic thinking.
The daycare group festival in Lindweiler not only offered a platform for fun and games, but also focused on important topics such as diversity, openness and community interaction. This experience shows that social differences can enrich lives - a message that everyone present took home with them.
