Autohaus Moll leaves Frechen: New future in Cologne-Porz!

The automotive location in Frechen has changed: Moll Automobile GmbH & Co. KG, known for its Land Rover and Jaguar models, has given up its location in Frechen. The company has been on Kölner Straße since 2020, but has now moved to Cologne-Porz. A move that not only affects the address, but also includes ambitious plans for the future.

The change was well thought out because the location in Frechen was always intended to be temporary. Moll Automobile had already laid the foundation for a new building in 2019 with a declaration of intent that would meet JLR standards. However, there were delays, for example due to the pandemic and material shortages, which pushed the start of construction back to late summer 2024. But there is great anticipation for the new location in Cologne-Porz, as it promises high energy efficiency and a lower CO2 footprint.

Relocation and employees

All 14 permanent employees and two trainees were transferred to Cologne-Porz with the move. The company even plans to further increase the number of employees at the new location. “We have always had a good knack for investing in employees,” says the site manager, who points out that he cannot provide any information about the subsequent use of the property in Frechen because it was rented.

Moll Automobile was founded in Aachen in 2006 with 23 employees and two locations and has grown more than tenfold since then. Today the company employs 350 people at a total of ten locations, which shows that demand for the sought-after car models remains high and the company is in the fast lane.

A look at the environment

A particularly important aspect of the move is the increased energy efficiency of the new location and the lower CO2 emissions. Fuel consumption and emissions information is available in accordance with the Passenger Car Energy Consumption Labeling Regulation. These values are determined according to the WLTP (Worldwide Harmonized Light-duty Vehicles Test Procedures) in order to offer customers a transparent basis. A guide to the fuel consumption and CO2 emissions of all new car models is provided free of charge at points of sale in Germany and can also be viewed online at www.dat.de/co2/.

Overall, the move represents a further step in the further development of Moll Automobile - a company that is increasingly popular not only in the Cologne area but also beyond. The plans for the new building and the associated improvements in energy efficiency show that Moll will continue to strive for a pioneering role in the automotive sector in the future.
