A new wind is blowing in the Nippes district of Cologne! The Dachlow youth club, a permanent contact point for young people since 2009, is planning to move to new, more spacious premises. How ksta.de reports, the club will move into the new building of the municipal GAG in Simonsveedel. The current location at Neusser Straße 731-733 has now proven to be too small; The new rooms promise significantly more space and are expected to be completed in spring 2026.
The new building project is not only reserved for the youth club, it also offers 97 apartments and a daycare center. The Dachlow has the opportunity to work barrier-free and at ground level, which ensures better accessibility. An interesting detail: As of April 1st, the rental agreement for the new premises has been approved, so the club can soon look forward to this move.
A home for the youth
The Dachlow Youth Club offers young people in the region a variety of opportunities. There is currently a kitchen on two floors, a library, a relaxation area and computer stations on the upper floor as well as a dance and fitness area in the basement. This range of offerings could be expanded in the future.
The “Back to the Future” association, which is responsible for the Dachlow, has been active since 1991. In addition to the youth club, the association is also involved in integrative work and offers various courses, including integration, women's and family courses as well as self-help groups and life coaching. It is therefore clear that the Dachlow is not only a place for leisure activities, but also an important point of contact for help and support.
The association is also looking for new supporting members to support its work. You can actively contribute to the sustainable work of the association with a monthly contribution of just 5 euros. The organization currently only has 15 members, and many hands could help create more opportunities for youth.
