Despite the problems mentioned, satisfaction with living conditions in Cologne is relatively stable. 85 percent of Cologne residents say they are satisfied or even very satisfied. But a different reality emerges among AfD supporters: 46 percent are less satisfied and 11 percent not at all. This discrepancy highlights the division within the electorate.

The city administration is faced with the challenge of not only maintaining satisfaction, but also proactively finding solutions to pressing issues. After all, only a quarter of voters trust the CDU, which is currently in government, while the SPD is gaining little credibility at 15 percent.
