Raid in Cologne: Drugs and weapons cache discovered in apartment!
The Cologne police have achieved several successes in the fight against drug trafficking in the past few days. A few days after an intoxicated driver was checked in Vingst on August 12th, where 12 grams of cocaine were found, it didn't take long before the investigation led to a suspected drug dealer. The 31-year-old, who was driving without a driver's license and under the influence of cannabis and cocaine, became the key to solving further crimes.
The investigation targeted another 31-year-old dealer whose apartment in Neubrück was searched by the police. The officers came across a veritable arsenal: around 700 grams of cannabis, almost 17 grams of cocaine, more than 10,600 euros in cash and several weapons, some of which were banned, including knives, a machete and impact weapons such as baseball bats. The alleged dealer is now facing a judge, while the driver is charged with driving under the influence of drugs and other offenses. The investigation is ongoing and police believe this is just the tip of the iceberg t-online.de reported in detail.
Arrests after months of investigation
At the same time, the Cologne police also arrested three suspected drug dealers who had been under surveillance for months. The men, aged 24, 28 and 34, were arrested specifically after they were suspected of dealing in narcotics on a large scale on Ebertplatz. Particularly explosive: The 24-year-old had already been busted in a drug deal in May 2024, when 30 bags of marijuana, almost 40 ecstasy tablets and a few units of cocaine were seized from him.
The 28-year-old, who was temporarily arrested, had over 50 amphetamine bags and more than 30 Ecstasy tablets with him, but was released without a warrant. But the investigators didn't give up and were able to identify another man as a supplier. On October 7th, an arrest warrant was finally obtained for the 28-year-old. His home was searched and more than 200 ecstasy tablets and almost 400 grams of amphetamine were discovered.
Drug raid with enormous finds
But the third in the group, the 34-year-old, had a particularly large amount of “substance” in his apartment: Here the officers found around 2.7 kilograms of ecstasy tablets, around 1.7 kilograms of ketamine, almost 140 grams of hashish and almost a kilogram of mushrooms. There was also an impressive stack of cash totaling almost 130,000 euros and a blank pistol in the apartment. All three men now have to answer for the urgent suspicion of trafficking in narcotics in large quantities, reports ksta.de.
Overall, the Cologne police are encouraged by these successes to continue to resolutely combat drug trafficking in the city. The investigation is continuing to arrest additional accomplices and backers.
