The city of Cologne goes into the future with great steps: The city is planning to found a new urban operation for the ambitious construction project "Parkstadt Süd". Thousands of jobs and over 3,000 new apartments are to be built here. The city council scheduled a crucial session for early July 2025, in which the company was coordinated. The starting signal for the new company should then take place on January 1, 2026, such as Radio Köln reported.

What does citizens expect: inside in Cologne? The “Parkstadt Süd” will offer an urban city district that should not only bring living space, but also social infrastructure, retail and offices. Particular attention is paid to the creation of new green areas and the completion of the inner green belt. This urban planning project, which is estimated with more than one billion euros, is one of the largest of its kind in Germany.

The details of the location are remarkable: the planning area, which includes a large area of ​​around 46 hectares, extends over the districts of Zollstock, Raderberg, Bayenthal and Neustadt-Süd. To be more precise, the area in the north is limited by the railway areas, in the east of the Rhine, in the south by the future development plan "Quartier development" and in the west of existing development on Höninger Weg.
