On Monday, August 11th, the police in Cologne turned a kiosk in the “Im Ferkulum” area upside down. Again Cologne City Gazette Reportedly, the officers found cocaine, heroin and suspected deal money worth around 1,500 euros during an operation. The 28-year-old operator of the kiosk was temporarily arrested and immediately brought before a judge.
The police investigation began the previous week when civilian officers observed suspicious activity in a kiosk on Severinstrasse. Based on these clues, suspicion shifted to the “Im Ferkulum” kiosk. With a court-ordered search, investigators finally gained access to the premises, where they were able to seize the drugs and cash. The second kiosk operator, a 22-year-old, is also suspected of being involved in the criminal activities.
Kiosk closed and locked
After the successful operation, the public order office closed and sealed the kiosk for the time being. The measures are part of a comprehensive police strategy to combat drug trafficking in the city center. “We take such incidents very seriously,” said a police spokesman. “Combating drug trafficking is an important concern for us.” Loud Cologne.de Criminal proceedings are now being initiated against the two suspects.
