An era is coming to an end: The popular Odysseum adventure museum in Cologne Kalk has closed its doors after 16 years. The location, which has welcomed numerous little explorers and their families since 2009, will soon shine in new splendor. In spring 2026, a new experience and learning center called EXPLORADOM will open in Ehrenfeld. Where exactly is the new explorer's paradise being built? It will be located at Mercedes-Allee 1, directly in Ehrenfeld, and offers a spacious area of 30,000 square meters. MINT concepts remain in focus
A central concern of EXPLORADOM will be the promotion of MINT subjects – i.e. mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology. Here children can take part in experiments, adventures and workshops that stimulate their curiosity and creativity. Parents, grandparents and other accompanying persons can also look forward to an extensive range of activities that invite them to participate, learn and work productively. The project will support the “MINT is everywhere” initiative and offer numerous suggestions for the development of learning opportunities.
