Art, community and democracy – these are the central themes that will be in the foreground on Thursday, September 4th in Chorweiler. Under the title “Chorweiler in Ton – Stories and Community in the District”, an exciting participatory project invites residents to take an active part in shaping their district. From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., people will shape, model and exchange stories on the outside stairs to the side of Liverpooler Platz. The aim is to unite the past, present and dreams of the residents in one work of art by creating a clay model together. kirche-koeln.de reports that various local institutions, including the Melanchthon Academy of the Evangelical Church Association of Cologne, are acting as organizers.
Everyone is invited to help shape a piece of the district and contribute personal memories. The moderation team will help to accompany the modeling, document the narratives and create a safe space for exchange. This project aims to not only promote community, but also strengthen democratic participation. After the event, the collected stories will be published and exhibited.
