Full closure and diversions
But that's not all. The ADAC informs about a complete closure of the A4 between Cologne-West and the Eifeltor junction, which began on September 12th and will last until September 22nd, 2025. During this time, traffic in the direction of Olpe between Eifeltor and Köln-Süd will only be directed past the work in one lane.
The closed connections in the Cologne-West motorway junction and diversions are as follows:
- A1 in Richtung Koblenz auf A4 in Richtung Olpe gesperrt.
- A1 in Richtung Dortmund auf A4 in Richtung Olpe gesperrt.
- A4 in Richtung Olpe aus Aachen kommend auf A4 nach Olpe gesperrt.
- Die Auffahrt auf die A4 in Richtung Olpe an der Anschlussstelle Köln-Klettenberg bleibt geschlossen, die Auffahrt in Richtung Aachen funktioniert jedoch problemlos.
Recommended diversions lead via the A1 towards Dortmund and A3 to Frankfurt in order to redirect traffic as best as possible. There are also local diversions that lead via Luxemburger Str. and the Military Ringstrasse to the Cologne-Eifeltor junction in order to route traffic efficiently. The ADAC warns of traffic jams and slowdowns, which will be unavoidable, especially at peak times.
