A lot is happening in the cinema sector in South Korea! The new thriller “Omniscient Reader: The Prophecy”, based on the web novel of the same name, will premiere in South Korean cinemas on July 23, 2025. The film is directed by the talented Kim Byung-woo, known for his works such as “The Terror Live” and “PMC: The Bunker”. The story revolves around an ordinary office worker, Kim Dok-ja, who discovers that the events of his unpopular online novel are actually becoming reality and he must avert the impending destruction of the world, which is referenced in the novel "Three Ways to Survive the Apocalypse".
The main roles are prominently cast: Ahn Hyo-seop, making his film debut, plays the central character Kim Dok-ja, while Lee Min-ho, known from the series “Pachinko”, takes on the role of Yoo Jung-hyuk. Chae Soo-bin, Shin Seung-ho, Kim Ji-soo and Nana, the K-pop singer, are also part of the star ensemble. The production will be carried out by the new company Smilegate Realize, which is not only responsible for securing the copyright of the original, but also wants to build a market for Korean content, as Baek Min-jeong, CEO of Smilegate Realize, announced.

There is also exciting news for all fans in Germany: Capelight Pictures has acquired the distribution rights, and the German cinema release is scheduled for September 11, 2025.
