On the morning of the attack, two vehicles slowed him down. Despite the massive threat - the perpetrators fired a total of 30 shots without stealing any money - the front window of the van remained stable. It is suspected that the perpetrators had inside information about the transport and route, which raises the disturbing question: who were these professionals?

In December 2024, there was another raid attempt at the same point, which also failed.

Concerns about safety in the city are not just based on this incident. In July 2025, a cash-in-transit truck in Brühl had to escape a robbery when its driver acted quickly and accelerated. It is currently difficult to predict whether the perpetrators will be caught soon. There have been no arrests to date.
