Art auction in Rodenkirchen: Gerda Laufenberg tidies up her studio!

In Rodenkirchen, art is combined with charity: the artist Gerda Laufenberg is giving up her studio at Mühlenweg 3 to move to smaller premises. The reason for this step is the planned renewal of all canals in the area, which endanger the artistic home of the 40-year creative period. To make the move smooth and to make her works accessible to a wider audience, she is organizing a major auction that will take place on Sunday, September 21st, from 4 p.m. Admission is from 3 p.m.

The upcoming auction will feature a wide range of artworks spanning four decades, including paintings, drawings and caricatures. The small-format works start at attractive prices of 100 euros, which should attract both art lovers and bargain hunters to the event. Prof. Dr. Dietmar Pennig, the General Secretary of the German Society for Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery, will lead the auction, which will ensure a professional atmosphere. Furniture and sculptures are also part of the offer, which makes the event particularly diverse.

A look into the future

Gerda Laufenberg plans to focus on a reduced lifestyle after moving to her new studio in Sürth. Such a step is a real challenge for the committed artist, who previously also used her studio for cultural events such as readings and concerts. Nevertheless, she is optimistic about the future and points out that half of the proceeds from the auction will benefit the Cologne Association for Children with Cancer. This means that every buyer can not only acquire a piece of art, but also make an important contribution to society.

The auction also includes the brand new Cologne calendar by Gerda Laufenberg, which will be available for 22 euros. A price that is non-negotiable but is sure to find many supporters. The preview of the works will take place on Friday, September 19th, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., giving anyone interested the opportunity to immerse themselves in Laufenberg's art world.

The auction is not only an opportunity to purchase valuable art, but also an event for the entire Rodenkirchen community. Art meets charity – there’s definitely something there! Visit the studio on Mühlenweg and be inspired. The event is aimed at everyone who appreciates art treasures and wants to support a good cause at the same time.
