International organ festival: sonorous nights in the Altenberg Cathedral!
Especially in the summer months, cultural life in the Rhineland blooms, and there is a lot to experience, especially in Cologne. On Thursday, July 10th, the International Organ Festival takes place in the Altenberger Cathedral. The organist Eric Chan, a talent from Hong Kong, will present works by Bach and Karg-Elert as well as some English pieces. The tickets cost 10 euros at the box office or 11 euros in advance.
The organ festival is a wonderful opportunity to get lost in the fascinating atmosphere of the Altenberg Cathedral. It goes until the beginning of September and offers another concert every Thursday. In addition to Chan, well -known artists such as the Aachen cathedral organist Michael Hoppe and Ludger Lohmann from Stuttgart are also on the program. On July 15, the topic of “fantasies” will be the focus.

But not only music lovers get their money's worth. On Friday, July 11th, the campaign "Mehr-als-not-blessen" in front of the St. Nikolaus-Kirche in Cologne. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., students, teachers and parents are invited to receive a special blessing for the upcoming school year. For younger generations, there is also the “School is out” party in Kerpen on the same day, which takes place from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. in St. Martinus Kerpen. Another highlight of the weekend is the open-air concert with the artist Maryaka in Cologne-Buchheim. The autumngold-er counting café on Saturday, July 12th, in the Kartäuserkirche provides a relaxed atmosphere. The cabaret artist and social worker A.D. Jürgen Becker will tell about his life from 2 p.m. - live music and dance animation complete the program. Entry is free, but donations are welcome.

Tuesday, July 15th, offers another option for social gathering: A grill buffet in the Evangelical Community Center Cologne-Pesch from 7 p.m. ensures a relaxed atmosphere.
