International Organ Festival: Soundful nights in Altenberg Cathedral!
Cultural life in the Rhineland flourishes, especially in the summer months, and there is a lot to experience, especially in Cologne. On Thursday, July 10th, the event will take place in Altenberg Cathedral at 8 p.m International Organ Festival instead of. Organist Eric Chan, a talent from Hong Kong, will present works by Bach and Karg-Elert as well as some English pieces. Tickets cost 10 euros at the box office or 11 euros in advance.
The organ festival is a wonderful opportunity to lose yourself in the fascinating atmosphere of Altenberg Cathedral. It runs until early September and offers another concert available every Thursday. In addition to Chan, well-known artists such as the Aachen cathedral organist Michael Hoppe and Ludger Lohmann from Stuttgart are also on the program. But it's not just music lovers who get their money's worth. The event will take place on Friday, July 11th “More than grades blessing” took place in front of the St. Nicholas Church in Cologne. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., students, teachers and parents are invited to receive a special blessing for the upcoming school year. For the younger generations there is also the “School is Out” party in Kerpen on the same day, which takes place from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. in St. Martinus Kerpen. Cultural experiences for everyone
Another highlight of the weekend is the open-air concert with the artist Maryaka in Cologne-Buchheim. On Friday evening she will perform in the Kreuzkirche from 8 p.m. and delight the audience with soulful lyrics and guitar playing. Before and after the concert there is the opportunity to chat over cool drinks.
This creates a relaxed atmosphere Autumn Gold Story Café on Saturday, July 12th, in the Carthusian Church. The cabaret artist and social worker Jürgen Becker will talk about his life from 2 p.m. - live music and dance animation round off the program. Admission is free, but donations are welcome.

Tuesday, July 15th, offers another opportunity for social gatherings: a barbecue buffet in the Evangelical Community Center Cologne-Pesch from 7 p.m. creates a relaxed atmosphere.
