Brothers-El Mala: FC Cologne's new hope for the future of football!

The two talented brothers Said and Malek El Mala are facing an exciting chapter in their football careers. After impressive performances at FC Viktoria Köln, the 18 and 20 year olds are heading to 1. FC Köln next season. This development is the result of hard work and excellent support from her former coach Dominik Idel. Kölnische Rundschau reports that Idel once trained the brothers at TSV Meerbusch and accompanied them when they moved to Viktoria in the summer of 2023.

The El Malas have made significant progress in the last two years. Said was nominated for the German U-19 national team and also received the title as the best newcomer in the third division. In his part-time role, he made his debut in February and scored against VfB Lübeck. Malek, on the other hand, increasingly found fulfillment in the attack, scoring ten goals in 22 games and also preparing seven goals. These successes are a clear confirmation of the continuous training of the two, some of which also began with the Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach. Come On FC emphasizes that the brothers are proud to be able to continue their careers together at FC Köln.

On the way to 1. FC Cologne

Although the brothers are now under contract with 1. FC Köln, they are still allowed to play for Viktoria Köln in the third division for the time being. The club management currently has a transfer ban, which allows the FC to sign new talent, but not immediately integrate them into the game. This gives the El Malas the opportunity to further develop and prove themselves before the big step into the Bundesliga.

Christian Keller, the sports director of 1. FC Köln, praised the brothers' development in the U19s and their appearances in the third division. Keller is convinced that the two will play an important role in the club in the future. The experience at Viktoria Köln will certainly benefit the brothers if they want to assert themselves in top-level football.

Talent development at the highest level

The basis for the successes of Said and Malek El Mala also lies in the DFB talent development program, which aims to individually promote every talent in Germany. With over 339 bases and a network of 1,200 qualified coaches, the DFB offers every talented player the chance to be discovered. This program combines youth work at club locations with higher-performance football facilities, thereby creating a solid basis for future talent. DFB ensures that more and more talented and creative players come along through targeted training rather than just accidental discoveries.

Another name that is causing a stir in the Viktoria environment is Noah Ringbeck. The 17-year-old moved from Alemannia Aachen to Viktoria and scored 21 goals last season. Idel describes Ringbeck and Malek El Mala as extremely willing to learn, with different playing styles, which could lead to promising careers for them. Despite departures, such as Charles Bambi-Ntunda, who is leaving Viktoria, the coach remains optimistic about the emergence of new talent, such as Jonas Beitz from Hennef.

With an exciting time ahead, fans of both clubs can look forward to El Malas' next steps, which have emerged from solid training and talent identification. The combination of skill and the right support could make the future very successful for these two brothers.
