The popular Goodchild Café on Sudermannstrasse says goodbye to its guests. After four years of success in the Agnesviertel, the café will close its doors at the end of June. The croissant variants in particular, such as the almond croissant with homemade almond cream, have proven to be a real hit with the public. Linda, who attended a patisserie school in California, ensures that everything served in the cafe is of the highest quality. A new beginning with “Drip”

But the people of Cologne don't have to spend long thinking about closing the café. There is already a successor: The new café will be called “Drip” and will continue to offer coffee and sweet and savory snacks. After the Goodchild Café closes, however, there will be a small renovation phase before the new operators can open their doors.

The challenge in the catering scene remains present. Loud dish.co The year 2024 was a significant year for the catering industry, with lunch and brunch offerings making a comeback. The demand for flexible menu concepts has increased and guests are increasingly opting for spontaneous restaurant visits. The new café “Drip” will probably also try to pick up on these trends and create an inviting atmosphere.

A lively piece of Cologne

The Goodchild Café will certainly leave a gap in Cologne's gastronomy. Not only was it a place for good coffee, but also a little oasis for those who wanted to enjoy the Australian-inspired, minimalist spaces and tasty treats. One of the highlights was the so-called cruffin, which goes through a three-day cycle before finding its way into the display.

The challenges, especially the lack of staff, were constant, and yet the café has never lost its creativity and attention to detail. So we can only hope that the “Drip” team can continue the old tradition with a good hand and delight the people of Cologne with fresh ideas and delicious dishes.
