NRW celebrates the weekend: garden days, parties and lots of fun!

The coming weekend from June 13th to 15th, 2025 has exciting leisure activities in store for all Cologne residents and visitors to North Rhine-Westphalia. No matter whether you are interested in festivals, city festivals or lively markets – the region has a colorful program to offer. The “Days of Gardens and Parks” are just one of the highlights, with over 200 gardens in Westphalia-Lippe, including Dortmund, opening their doors. Another very special event is taking place in Cologne: TheOpening party for the EHF Final4. On June 13th from 6 p.m. and on June 14th and 15th from 12:30 p.m. the fan zone at the Lanxess Arena will become a party mile. Autograph sessions from handball stars, musical accompaniment from a DJ and performances from live bands await party guests. Entry is free here too!

Diverse city festivals and fairs

In addition, the region is enlivened by numerous city festivals and fairs. This way visitors can look forward to itFestival D'Italiawhich will take place from June 13th to 15th at Joseph-Beuys-Ufer in Düsseldorf. There is Italian music, dancing and culinary delicacies to enjoy here - and with free entry too!

In Hagen from June 13th at 5 p.m. to June 16th theBig Hasper faircelebrated, which features a tapping of a barrel, live music and a children's day. Here too, festival visitors can immerse themselves in the festive atmosphere - entry is free, but the rides cost. There will also be special activities for the little guests on “Family Day” on Monday.

But these are not the only highlights: There are several district festivals in Cologne and there is one in AachenStreet Food & Music Festival, and in Duisburg the inner harbor festival is celebrated with a dragon boat regatta.
