Kraftklub rocks Ehrenfeld: youth choir gives you goosebumps during their performance!
What an evening it was in Cologne-Ehrenfeld! The Chemnitz band took care of things on Thursday evening Strength club for sold-out streets and meter-long queues in front of the Bildundtonfabrik studios. Hundreds of fans enthusiastically followed the band's call on social media and made their way to experience the spontaneous open-air concert. This special event took place as part of filming for Jan Böhmermann's ZDF show “Magazin Royale”.
Michael Kokott, head of the St. Stephan Youth Choir, was also part of the event. The choir performed together with Kraftklub and sang the brand new single “Schief in meine Chor”, which will be released on November 28th on the upcoming album “Die in Karl-Marx-Stadt”. A moment that none of the many spectators wanted to miss!
Strength club in the spotlight
The concert was heavily promoted: a countdown on a huge display announced the performance and attracted the crowds. Jan Böhmermann, who took the stage, not only thrilled those present, but also caused a stir with his recent e-scooter ride from Cologne to Chemnitz. This action fit perfectly with the relaxed atmosphere of the evening.
If you didn't have the opportunity to be there live, you can be happy! The episode of “Magazin Royale” with the performance of the youth choir and strength club will be broadcast today, June 6th, at 11 p.m. on ZDF and will be available in the ZDF media library from 8 p.m.
More musical highlights
But that wasn't all! In addition to Kraftklub's performance, there are exciting events coming up for the youth choir. An impressive summer concert will take place in the Cologne Philharmonic on June 19th, followed by a performance at the community festival at Kriel Cathedral on July 6th. Anyone who is a fan of musical diversity has the opportunity to take part in the youth choir's rehearsals, which take place on Wednesdays in Cologne-Lindenthal. Admission is free, and the repertoire offers a wide range from pop to gospel to Cologne songs.
Children's choir Lucky Kids, also under the direction of Michael Kokott, will appear as a musical guest at the summer concert on June 19th. The Lucky Kids also recently released their new single “Rainbow Colors” on platforms such as Spotify, Amazon Music and Apple Music.
With these exciting events and Kraftklub's brilliant performance, the Cologne music scene is once again proving to be lively and inviting. It will be exciting to see what the next few months bring!
