Cologne music legends Petry and Zeltinger: Sensational new song!

A new musical highlight brings a breath of fresh air into the Cologne music scene! Wolfgang Petry and Jürgen Zeltinger have joined forces and will present their joint single entitled “Ich wor ens ovve” on the sampler “Karneval der Stars 55” on October 31st. In a 37-second video shared on social media, the two legends can be seen in conversation. Petry reminds his colleague Zeltinger of this special song and asks him to start the conversation. Zeltinger appears a little confused, but the anticipation for the new track is palpable – Express reports.

“Ich wor ens ovve” is a quiet ballad that highlights Zeltinger’s gentle singing. The content of the song reflects the ups and downs of both artists and shows that both musicians, who have known each other from the Cologne music scene for around 60 years, have had similar experiences on their life journey. The idea for the project arose on Zeltinger's 76th birthday at the end of May, when Zeltinger was immediately enthusiastic about the proposal and wanted it to be taken up quickly - T-Online informs.

Cologne's musical greats in dialogue

The two icons, Petry and Zeltinger, began their careers in Cologne in the 1970s. While Petry was discovered in 1975 in the legendary disco “Whisky Bill”, Zeltinger celebrated his breakthrough in Cologne’s “Roxy”. One is considered the inventor of Kölschrock, the other revolutionized the German hit. Despite their long acquaintance, live performances together seem rather unlikely, which the Zeltinger band keeps to a minimum - Tag24 adds.

In the video, Zeltinger also appeals to fans to quickly get a CD - and do it with charm. The collaboration is viewed very positively on social media, which further fuels anticipation for the song. It seems as if the Cologne home of her two sons is blossoming once again, while the discussion about the spelling of the title, “Ich wor ens bovve” or “ovve”, is keeping people even more busy. Zeltinger explains that both variants are possible.

With the sampler's release just around the corner, the city is preparing for a comeback of its music legends. It remains exciting to see how the audience reacts to this unexpected project and whether a live performance by the two Cologne greats is still in the stars. They both certainly have a good knack for music history - and now we're all excited about the next steps!
