The reason for this is a defect in building management: a control over 30 years old for bathing water technology is causing trouble. "No safe operation is currently possible for the indoor pool," confirms a spokeswoman for Kölnbäder GmbH. Fortunately, the outdoor pool operation can be maintained thanks to a technical bridging, so that the guests can still venture into the cool wet.

The failure, however, represents a challenge. A spare part for short -term repairs has been ordered and should arrive in mid -July. In the long term, however, those responsible must think about a complete renewal of the outdated technology. An exchange of the entire building technology has a delivery time of four to six months, followed by installation and programming by a specialist company. It is expected that the entire bathroom will have to be closed for about eight weeks at the end of the year to carry out this work. This temporary closure follows a maintenance that has already been carried out from January to the beginning of March, in which ceiling and soundproofing work was carried out.
