New chief of police Mitschke: Oberberg should become the Secure Circle in NRW!
In Gummersbach there is a new man at the head of the police: Police Councilor Stefan Mitschke has been appointed management manager and thus plays an important role in ensuring the safety of people in the Oberberg district. The 46-year-old came to Gummersbach from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in 1991 and can be guided by solid training and extensive experience in his new task. Mitschke is not only married and father of two children, but also laid the foundation for his professional career at the Wipperfürther Evangelical Confidential School.
his career, which began training with the police, led him to his first patrol car in Gummersbach. Over the years, he went through various departments and rose for a higher service. Among other things, he worked in state security and headed the crime inspection 6 at the Cologne police chief. His goal is clear: he wants to make Oberberg the safest circle in North Rhine-Westphalia.
The strategy for more security
"The central concern is the close cooperation with the municipalities and other" players "in order to be able to react quickly and effectively in escalations," emphasizes Mitschke. The management is responsible for the danger defense and commitment, and a team of around 220 civil servants is available for this. Their tasks range from the processing of patrol operations to traffic accidents and houses. Gummersbach, Wipperfürth and Waldbröl actively involved in solving a wide variety of problems, be it with disputes or disturbances.
An element of security policy is the district and focus service (BSD). This consists of district service officers and security officers who regularly establish contact with the citizens. "Each district has around 10,000 inhabitants," explains Mitschke, "and our district officers are the contact for all their worries." The tasks include, among other things, school monitoring and special operations at folk festivals, which shows that the police are actively involved in the community.
The organization of the police in North Rhine-Westphalia
in North Rhine-Westphalia, where roads are secured by the district police authorities (KPB), a well-structured system ensures danger control. Of the 47 KPB and three state supervisors (praise), over 40,500 police officers are deployed. This organization not only secures the streets, but also the approximately 2,200 km of motorway and more than 900 km of water in the state. The police are under the interior minister, which is opposed to the Parliament, as police.nrw emphasized.
With the new leadership in Gummersbach, District Administrator Jochen Hagt is also pleased about the rapid occupation of the management position after the retirement of Sascha Himmel. The fresh wind that Stefan Mitschke brings could give the Oberbergische Kreis a new momentum in the security work that benefits both the citizens and the civil servants. The new management manager seems to have a good knack for getting the challenges of the present under control and designing a safe future for everyone.
