Cycling for climate protection: Exciting events in Cologne start now!

A lot is happening in Cologne! While the city prepares for summer temperatures, the **City Cycling 2025** starts. From June 11th to July 1st, all Cologne residents who like to pedal can join the “kirche-köln-radelt” team to collect kilometers for climate protection. Anyone interested can easily register at www.stadtradeln.de register. So, it's high time to get your bike out of the basement and cover your everyday journeys in a climate-friendly way!

But that's not enough! Today, June 12th, several events are attracting Cologne residents out of their four walls. The concert “New Songs for the Soul – Classics for the Throat” will take place in the Friedenskirche Worringen at 5 p.m. – and admission is free! Music lovers are warmly invited to let themselves be touched by the sounds.

Cultural highlights in Ehrenfeld and Klettenberg

On the same evening at 7 p.m., a performative installation entitled “About care” awaits visitors in the Friedenskirche Ehrenfeld. Admission here is also free and donations are gladly accepted to support this creative initiative. If you still haven't had enough, you can attend the introductory evening for “Messiah” in Café Lamerdin in Cologne-Klettenberg. There will be free entry at 7:30 p.m.

The culture continues: On June 13th there will be several treats for the people of Cologne. From 8 p.m. Ant Utama will play at the open-air summer concert in front of the Kreuzkirche in Buchheim, while at the same time the reading “The Shimmering of the Sea” with Adrian Pourviseh will take place in the Carthusian Church - also free of charge!

Socializing and learning in June

For those who would like to learn more about theology and music, a seminar will be offered at Trinity Church on June 14 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Registration is required here and you can take part for 8 euros. Finally, on June 15th it will be very special for the youngest Cologne residents: at the children's singing day in the Cologne-South church district, in the Martin Luther House, all kids are welcome from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. But be careful: Registration must be done by June 15th and costs 10 euros.

And don't forget: On the same day, the ecumenical Baptism Bridge Path 2025 begins at 1:30 p.m. with the theme “Growing with God,” which ends with a large final service in Cologne Cathedral at 4:30 p.m. A sociable event that not only brings joy to the little ones.

Climate Festival – A celebration for environmental protection

Climate protectionplaced. The climate festival will take place from July 7th to 13th, where citizens, celebrities and companies will come together to present solutions for a climate-just future. The diverse event program will include live musical acts, workshops and cultural highlights at various locations. The highlight will be the big “Viva La Green” event on July 11th in Gürzenich Cologne. Entry to the festival is also free and promises to transform the city into a green oasis.
