The mood in the Erzgebirgstadion on September 13, 2025 was anything but good, especially after FC Erzgebirge Aue's disappointing performance against the overly strong Cologne team. MDR reports that Aue lost the game 0-3 and is therefore still in the relegation zone of the third division.
The game initially started promisingly for the home team. Aue was more dominant in the first half and had seven shots. Nevertheless, the Erzgebirge team did not manage to take advantage of the opportunities. Instead, Leonhard Münst scored Cologne's first goal with a header in the 19th minute. Shortly afterwards, Aue had to accept another blow in the neck: Tim Kloss unintentionally converted a header into his own goal in the 44th minute after an Auer defensive action. We went into the half-time break with a 0-2 deficit. Time complements that coach Jens Härtel's team was unable to catch up after the break and was finally buried 3-0 by Benjamin Zank in the 87th minute.
