20 years of Verfuß in Wipperfürth: A milestone for the region!

Wipperfürth has every reason to celebrate: The Verfuß construction company turns 20 this year and looks back on its successful branch in the city. The company was founded in June 2005 with the clear goal of expanding its presence in the Oberberg district and opening up new markets. At that time, the Bergisches Land region was identified as particularly promising for industrial, commercial and residential construction, as an analysis in 2004 showed. The experienced Dipl.-Ing. took over the management. Hans-Jörg Schneider, who made a significant contribution to the company's success.

One of the projects that have been implemented over the last two decades is the conversion of the Olefshof in Cologne-Zündorf. Between 2007 and 2008, 27 condominiums were created from a historic manor house, all under strict monument law requirements. The construction of a joint building yard for the communities of Wipperfürth and Hückeswagen between 2012 and 2013, which had a cost of 3.5 million euros, is also one of the notable achievements. Other important projects include the extensive renovation and new construction of the cinema in Bensberg as well as the renovation of a listed customs hall, which led to the establishment of the Cologne branch.

Monument preservation as a central issue

Verfuss pays particular attention to monument preservation, which is of great importance in the region. Monuments must not only be maintained by their owners, but also treated properly and protected from danger, as stipulated by the Monument Protection Act (Section 7 DSchG). Changes to architectural monuments require approval, although the removal or change of use requires permission from the lower monument authority. For successful implementation, a detailed building analysis and a responsible approach are important in order to preserve the special features of these historical buildings.

Verfuß's network also includes collaboration with specialists in monument preservation who offer advice on renovations, restorations and reconstructions. The monument conservators help you to comply with all requirements and also help you take advantage of government funding and tax advantages. These are particularly relevant as listed buildings are subject to different levels of heritage protection and require individual government approvals depending on how the building is to be used.

“I would like to look back on these successful years and acknowledge the tireless efforts of Hans-Jörg Schneider,” says Ben Kreuzer, Managing Director of Verfuß. “His commitment has deeply rooted our company in the region.” Information about the projects and monument preservation can be found on the [Verfuss website](https://www.fair-news.de/3792160/20-jahre-verfuss-in-wipperfuerth-ver Wurzelt-in-der-region).

It is important for all builders in the region to know and comply with the regulations for listed buildings. The Lower Monuments Authority in Wipperfürth is available as a contact person for this. Further details on the legal framework and the necessary permits can be found on the website of the city of Wipperfürth. Those interested can also find support on the BauExpertenteam website, which offers a variety of services in this area.
