Construction site chaos in Cologne: road users have to prove patience!

The city of Cologne will be facing a real Herculean task in the coming weeks: drivers have to expect detours and delays, since several intensified construction measures restrict the traffic routes. A central point of the construction sites is the Severinsbrücke, which is examined as part of the regular main examination by the city of Cologne. This takes place every six years and requires a temporary blocking for car traffic, as TAG24 reports. Next Sunday, June 8th and June 15th, the bridge will have to be closed to traffic from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. The diversions are well signposted on site.

Another important construction project takes place at the intersection Humboldtstraße/Königsberger Straße in Cologne-Ail. The traffic lights have been renewed here since mid -May and the work should be completed by July 21. During the construction period, a portable traffic light system regulates traffic. The new signaling technology is not only equipped with LED, but also offers acoustic signals and elements for visually impaired people, which increases the safety of all road users.
