Unexploded bombs become a danger
If it turns out that these are actually explosive World War II bombs, an evacuation could be necessary as early as Tuesday, May 20, 2025. There are also concerns about an unexploded bomb with a long-term detonator, which would require immediate action and could result in an evacuation on May 16th.

The Cologne University Hospital, as well as a nearby senior citizens' home, have already made preparations for a possible evacuation.
