Tim Kloss moves to Viktoria Köln on a free transfer: New chapter begins!

Tim Kloss is moving to FC Viktoria Cologne

An exciting summer for FC Viktoria Köln: The club has landed a talented newcomer from Munich in Tim Kloss. The 20-year-old, who has played for the Munich Lions for the last three years, is moving to Cologne on a free transfer. He is already the eighth newcomer for the upcoming season. Kloss previously played in both the 3rd division for TSV 1860 Munich and in the Bayernliga for their U21, where he made a name for himself in recent years.

Kloss started his career at 1860 after moving from FC Bayern in 2017 as a homegrown player and has worked through all of the youth teams. He honored his farewell with an emotional farewell before the home game against Erzgebirge Aue. During his time at 1860 he played 22 games in the 3rd league and 18 games in the U21. His Bundesliga debut was particularly notable on the first matchday of the 2023/24 season, when he came on as a substitute in the final minute against Waldhof Mannheim. In terms of numbers, the young player made 20 appearances last season, in which he was on the pitch for an average of 26 minutes.

New chapter in Cologne

With the move to Cologne, Kloss not only hopes for new sporting challenges, but also personalized further development. Stephan Kusters, the sporting director of Viktoria Köln, highlights Kloss' size, his header game, his strength in tackling and his general footballing abilities. Kusters is convinced that Kloss has the necessary quality for the 3rd league in order to develop both personally and playfully at Viktoria.

In the first two matchdays of last season, Kloss was part of the starting eleven, but his playing time stagnated and he was mainly used as a supplementary player. His last appearance over 90 minutes ended with a 2:5 defeat in Dresden, which ultimately led to his separation from TSV 1860. Kloss is ready for the challenge and will demonstrate his skills in defensive midfield and in the center of defense.
