German vaulters shine at international tournaments in Austria and Belgium!

Two important international vaulting tournaments took place on June 2, 2025, and the German athletes performed impressively. While one tournament took place in Stadl-Paura in Austria, the other was held in Opglabbeek, Belgium. The German vaulters split between both events and showed strong performances throughout.

Thomas Brüsewitz from Cologne in particular caused a sensation in Opglabbeek. He secured first place in the senior men's category with 7.917 points on his gray gelding William II Z. Bela Lehnen from Moers also excelled in the U21 category and won with 8.165 points on the gelding Formula 1 d.C. among the U21 men. Particularly noteworthy was the performance of Alina Roß, who took first place among the senior women with 7.941 points. Their performance was followed by Emma Ziehl and Jolina Ossenberg-Engels in fifth and sixth place.

Grace & team spirit in Stadl-Paura

At the same time, an exciting tournament took place in Stadl-Paura, in which the local vaulters were also successful. Sebastian Renkl from Schweitenkirchen won the U18 men with 8.028 points on a gelding wildcard. Laura Lutz and Veronica Frey competed in the Pas-de-Deux category and took second place with 7.755 points. Another highlight was the Germany I team, which took third place in the Nations Cup behind Austria and Switzerland.

Particular attention was also paid to the junior individual ranking. Here Daniela Fritz continued her strong performance and won the junior individual competition at the CVIO in Stadl-Paura. Her success could recommend her for the home European Championships in the Magna Racino, as illustrated by the positive assessment of the vaulting referee Manfred Rebel, who praised the build-up in performance and the opportunities at the European Championships. In addition to her, Pill's team, led by lunge leader Klaus Haidacher, also showed strong performances and won ahead of Club 43.

Outsiders on the rise

But it wasn't just the Germans who were impressed. The vaulters from Wildegg under lunge leader Maria Lehrmann won in the general class and can now also hope to take part in the European Championships after achieving outstanding artistic scores. The UVT Freisaal team was not in action due to injury, but plans to try their luck again at the next sighting in Gleisdorf.

The entire vaulting community is in an exciting phase in which sporting ambition and the anticipation of major competitions such as the European Championships are constantly increasing. The decision on the European Championship participants will be postponed until the second viewing in Gleisdorf, and preparations are already in full swing.

Once again it has been shown that Austria and Germany are at the top of the vaulting sport and the upcoming competitions can be eagerly awaited. The performances of these two events are clear evidence that there are great talents at work here who will make a splash in the future.
