Million project on Bleibergplatz: New future for Mechernich!
Mechernich, Deutschland - in Mechernich finally happens again - after a difficult way, it has now succeeded in bringing a fresh air to the city center. A new construction project on Bleibergplatz is in the starting blocks. The plans that the farmer Clemens Ploenes developed together with his partner Albert Kühl from Bedburg promise comprehensive changes and a revival of the region.
The previous conditions were not necessarily optimal. The city was under pressure due to the death of investor Elmar Scholzen, who wanted to advance the implementation of the integrated concept of action (INHK). The project stalled because the family of the deceased was busy handling the estate. In the meantime, the city had difficulty finding new investors. Mayor Dr. However, Hans-Peter Schick is optimistic about the future and has searched for new partners to end the standstill. After all, Ploenes and cool found their way to this important building project, which is of central importance for Mechernich.
Details on the new building project
With a planned investment of around 17.5 million euros plus real estate acquisition costs, a modern residential and commercial building will be created, which not only meets functional but also aesthetic requirements. A total of 48 apartments as well as an SB market and gastronomic facilities are planned. This mixture is intended to help increase the quality of stay at Bleibergplatz considerably.
The building is built on a floor area of around 1500 square meters and will include four connected components. A highlight is the planned facade, which is designed with natural stone and is intended to integrate an arcade course with gastronomy areas in order to spray region -typical cosiness and charm.
The social aspect of the new construction project is also particularly important. Of the 48 planned apartments, 25 are to be funded publicly. This sets a sign of social housing, which is socially particularly relevant in the current situation. The remaining 23 apartments are financed privately.a key project for the city center
The building application is expected until summer and construction is scheduled for spring 2026. Cooperation with the Architecture Bureau ACI -Society for Project Development, Construction Planning and Management from Würselen, which plays a central role in the INHK, continues. The first reactions from the city planning committee were positive, which further strengthens the optimism with regard to the project.
However, the city of Mechernich still faces challenges, especially with regard to the financial support of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The application for urban development funds was classified as "not ready for approval or not eligible". The city administration is currently waiting for an official rejection of the application to get clarity over the next steps. The challenges are not insignificant, because there is currently less money for urban development funding, and the competition for funding is great - 32 applications with a total funding of around 70 million euros are already available.
Nevertheless, there is hope that Mechernich can not only redesign the appearance of the city center with the new investor and the planned construction project, but also drives sustainable development in the region. The future looks promising and gives hope that Mechernich will soon be a blooming center of life again.Details | |
