Chabos celebrates its premiere: Peppi on a nostalgic trip to the nineties!
Ehrenfeld, Deutschland - Yesterday was an exciting day for all series lovers in Cologne: ZDF production "Chabos" celebrated its premiere in the Cinenova cinema during the popular "serial camp" festival. With a fresh concept and a look back at the nineties, the new comedy drama series brings the audience back to a time before smartphones determined everyday life.
The main character of the series is Peppi, a 36-year-old man, represented by Johannes Kienast. Peppi is faced with his failed youth after not invited to a class reunion. In order to find out why his friends have excluded him, he goes on a nostalgic journey into 2006. The experiences of his clique, first loved ones and family tensions are the focus of a successful picture of the youth that will recognize many viewers.
a look into the past
The story of "Chabos" is also a story about growth and self -acceptance. Peppi is confronted with his 16-year-old self, which makes him take responsibility and find his place in life. This universal search for meaning and identity addresses both the younger and the older generation - a clever move by the producers.
The title "Chabos" refers to Peppi's youth friends and means "Junge" in the Ruhr area. Director Mickey Paatzsch and co-director as well as screenwriter Arkadij Khaet understood to capture this special zeitgeist in film by letting 40 percent of the action play in the present and 60 percent in the zero years. In flashbacks, young young actors take on important roles that make the stories come alive.
cast and framework of action
The series is also peppered with familiar faces: Anke Engelke plays Peppi's mother and brings her expertise into the parent-child dynamics. Peter Schneider and David Schütter also took over supporting roles that enrich the plot. The entire production that was realized in Cologne and Düsseldorf shows not only the personal challenges of Peppi, but also the cultural differences that separate the generations
The eight episodes of the comedy drama will be available in the ZDF media library and on ZDFneo from August. The combination of temporal nostalgia and timeless topics makes “Chabos” a promising introduction to the standard landscape.
In view of the great interest and the positive response at the premiere, it is clear that "Chabos" could be very popular with both 16 and 36-year-old spectators. Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger and televisionSerien.de already report on this exciting new series that deals with the challenges of youth and the associated memories.Details | |
