With an area of 1233 square meters, the new donation warehouse offers more than 400 square meters of additional space compared to the previous warehouse. During the celebration, managing director Susanne Hahmann expressed her gratitude for the support over the last few months and is looking forward to the resumption of accepting donations. Thanks to the new landlord, who placed emphasis on renting to social projects, the Diakonie was able to quickly move to new premises.

Commitment to the community

A total of 61 employees work at Diakonie Michaelshoven, including 16 in the donation warehouse. The majority of these employees are people with severe disabilities or long-term unemployed who, through their employment, regain valuable support and a bit of normality in their lives. Diakonie's mission to support disadvantaged people and offer them new perspectives remains firmly anchored with the opening of the new camp.

The donations are not only intended for the fair shops, where the donated items can be purchased cheaply or distributed to those in need; They also make an important contribution to supporting social cohesion in Cologne. Diakonie Michaelshoven would like to thank all donors and helpers who stuck together during this difficult time and continue to support us.
