Elsdorf is looking for holiday games team members: Apply now and inspire kids!
The city of Elsdorf is looking for motivated team members for the 2026 holiday games. These will take place during the Easter, summer and autumn holidays and are aimed at children and young people. If you enjoy working with children, this is the right place for you - you should be at least 16 years old, but no previous experience is necessary. The city offers professional support on site so that even newcomers can quickly get started. A special bonus: The team members receive a flat rate for expenses and can receive a certificate for their CV if they wish. Anyone interested should contact Ms. Kitzer at the Elsdorf Youth Welfare Office on 02274 – 709 311 or by email at jugendpflege@elsdorf.de.
Another important point concerns registration for the 2025 holiday games: Parents can register their children from February 1st, 2025 at 8:00 a.m., with the registration deadline being March 31st, 2025. The registration options vary depending on the holiday season: a maximum of three weeks can be booked for the summer holidays, while individual registrations for individual days are not possible. In order to largely centralize registrations, the city and the youth welfare office are working with various cooperation partners, including GiP e.V. and the “Brause” youth center. These institutions organize the programs for the first two weeks of the summer holidays.
Diverse offers and partners
The city of Erkelenz also sees the importance of holiday games and has been organizing them since 1982. Their programs are open to all children and young people, regardless of age, gender or origin. The offerings range from creative activities to sporting forms and are supervised by a dedicated team. Between 25 and 30 team members between the ages of 16 and 30 are active here. They do valuable work not only during the holiday games, but also at city events outside of these times. Particularly noteworthy is the “holiday reporter” project, which offers young participants the opportunity to create articles under the guidance of local journalists and record their experiences in a holiday newspaper.
The collaboration between various youth centers, such as the Evangelical Youth Center Cirkel or the Catholic Children and Youth Center Katho, ensures that there is something for everyone. A look at the respective registration options shows that the students of the holiday games also register via the Unser-ferienprogramm.de platform, which ensures easy handling.
For anyone who would like to get involved in caring for children and young people, Elsdorf offers an excellent opportunity to become active and gain new experiences at the same time. Anyone interested should take the time to ask Ms. Kitzer at the youth welfare office - perhaps this will be the beginning of a new adventure in the world of holiday games!
