Nümbrecht defeats Flittard and fights for promotion!

Today, SSV Homburg-Nümbrecht took an important step in the fight for promotion to the Middle Rhine League. In the SpVg stadium. The Cologne-Flittard team from Nümbrecht won an impressive 3-1 and thus consolidated their place in the middle of the table. However, this game was anything but a walk in the park, as both teams were goalless in the first half and had many wasted opportunities.

It wasn't until the second half that the game really picked up speed. Abderrahim Rabhi gave Flittard a 1-0 lead in the 61st minute. But Nümbrecht reacted promptly: Niklas Goße hit the post and Robin Brummenbaum was able to equalize in the 71st minute. The drama continued to mount when Flittard missed a penalty in the 73rd minute in what would prove to be a pivotal moment. Just two minutes later, Goße made it 2-1 for Nümbrecht. Brummenbaum set the final point in the 90th minute, making the final score 3-1 with his second goal.

Promotion games in view

Thanks to this victory, Nümbrecht is now back in the promotion fight, two game days before the end of the season. The direct competitor, SSV Bornheim, suffered a bitter defeat of 0:4 in the game against 1. FC Spich and is only two points ahead of Nümbrecht. Another team that could intervene in the title fight is SC Borussia Lindenthal-Hohenlind, who will face Bornheim next week and therefore have the chance to influence the starting position again. SC Rheinbach, on the other hand, has to accept that it is out of the title race after a defeat against Schlebusch.

It is now crucial for Nümbrecht to make the next two games successful. Coach Torsten Reisewitz praised his team's performance and will continue to have to travel with a significantly reduced squad. The line-up for the game against Flittard was as follows: Matteo Tessarolo in goal, supported by Felix Adamietz, Sebastian Ramspott, Moritz Becker, Lukas Grünberg (81. Christian Rüttgers), Marvin Hennecken (46. Ricardo Bauerfeind), Fritz Schäfer (90.+2 Julian Schoepe), Joscha Trommler (60. Robin Brummenbaum), Felix Klein, Kilian Seinsche and Niklas Goße.
