Cologne celebrates variety: CSD 2025 brings party, parades and emotional debates!
Deutz, Deutschland - Cologne celebrates the big event of the Cologne Pride at the weekend, which has already started to the fullest. On Friday, July 5, 2025, the Queennight on the hay market attracts with a colorful mix of music acts and discussions. The atmosphere is excellent - but there are also some burgeoning discussions, such as those around rainbow flags and bans, which put a little strain on the atmosphere. In response to this, Cologne hung up a huge banner on Schafenstraße, which sets a strong sign of acceptance. The Federal Government's queer officer, Sophie Koch, also critically commented on the heated debates.
on Sunday, July 6, 2025, the CSD demo will start at 12:00 p.m. on the Deutzer Bridge and move through the city. Up to 60,000 registered participants are expected: inside, and many thousands of spectators: inside is expected on the side of the path. The city of Cologne is also strongly represented; Employees of the administration and other urban institutions take part in the seventh time and set an example of diversity and acceptance. Mayor Henriette Reker will open the parade and go part of the route together with the urban group. The Cologne fire brigade is also part of the party and appears under the start number 112, another sign of tolerance and cohesion.

The Cologne Verkehrsbetriebe (KVB) also adapted to the rush and use additional lanes, in particular on line 1 between Junkersdorf and Deutz/Messe station. The operation is also reinforced between Niehl, Neumarkt and Koelnmesse. For all those who want to travel by public transport, the CSD ticket is available for 23.60 euros, valid in the Rhein-Sieg transport association. Special trains will even run from the Ruhr area to Cologne on Sunday.
