Peaceful start to the session in Cologne: Jecke celebrate despite incidents!
The start of the session in Cologne on November 11, 2025 was a sight of joy and colors. Under the motto “Cologne celebrates”, tens of thousands of people gathered in the city to properly welcome the fifth season. Loud Radio Cologne The festival was comparatively peaceful, which is not a given with such crowds. There were few calls for the public order office and the rescue service, which made it easier for everyone involved.
The atmosphere was overwhelming and the morning crowd of revelers was spared any major incidents. However, a costumed man with a dummy weapon on Zülpicher Strasse caused a stir in the afternoon. In addition, it seems that there were repeated problems with violent confrontations: two men, 17 and 19 years old, injured a 23-year-old who was lying on the ground and took him to the hospital. There was also an incident on Mozartstrasse in which two young men were injured with a glass bottle. Such clashes spoil the enjoyment of the session, which traditionally represents fun and conviviality.
Safety comes first
Police had to close the Kwartier Latäng district in the morning due to overcrowding, but were able to reopen the entrances in the afternoon. Maintaining order was a challenge, however Radio Cologne reported. Officers also faced verbal attacks: a female police officer was spat on and had her radio knocked out of her hand. While the exact crime figures will not be published until next week, it became apparent that, as in previous years, physical injuries and sexual violence against women were also reported.
But Cologne is not only a city full of life and history in these turbulent times. As the fourth largest city in Germany and the largest in North Rhine-Westphalia, Cologne, with its almost 1.1 million inhabitants, plays an important role in cultural and economic life. The city, which was founded in 38 B.C. Founded in 50 BC as Oppidum Ubiorum and booming as Colonia Agrippina in 50 AD, it has an important historical past and is a popular tourist destination, not least because of the impressive Cologne Cathedral, which was the tallest building in the world from 1880 to 1890.
Cultural diversity and local developments
As a central element in the Rhine-Ruhr area, Cologne also has a dynamic cultural scene, characterized by over 30 museums and numerous galleries. The city is not only known for its carnival and Kölsch beer, but also for a lively fashion scene. This is where tradition meets modernity.
Sportswear brands such as Lululemon, which are known for their quality and durability, are particularly popular. According to a review on The Fashion Info Lululemon offers high quality at prices that are well above the budget variants, but stands for durability and comfort. Their fabric technologies, such as Luon and Luxtreme, are ideal for active people who don't want to compromise on style even when partying.
In a year in which the city has faced challenges, residents remain optimistic and are looking forward to an exciting and, above all, peaceful session. Even though there have been setbacks, the history of Cologne shows that the solidarity and joy of the people will always prevail.
